<\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mickey<\/a> was awarded SELECT DOG on one day and an AWARD OF MERIT of two of the days, including the Welsh Terrier Club of America National Specialty.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

The judge on this day, Mr. Clay Coady<\/a>, is very well known and respected in the world of show dogs, and in terriers in particular.\u00a0 In his day of being a professional handler, he handled some of the top Welsh Terriers to many BIS wins.\u00a0 He knows a good dog, and he knows a good Welsh Terrier in particular.\u00a0 We are very proud of his Award for Mickey, as well as his very nice write-up in the National Club newsletter.<\/p>\n

Morgana<\/a>, Mickey’s daughter, was also a top winner on this weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also, a young boy recently sired by Mickey, Tucker (Snoward\u2019s Tuff Enuff, bred by Ann Bark), was <\/span><\/span>Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the National Specialty!<\/p>\n

Given that Mickey has sired very few litters, these multiple offspring being awarded on this weekend is remarkable and very inspiring.<\/p>\n

Mickey was beautifully conditioned and presented by Bill and Taffe McFadden, who are located in Northern California.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mickey was presented at this set of shows 3 years prior, and also was awarded there.\u00a0 3 years ago he finished his American Championship the first day with a Best of Winners award, and then followed that with a Select Dog award later in the weekend.<\/p>\n

<\/div>[vc_text_separator title=”Montgomery County KC \/ WTCA National is a very important weekend!”][vc_column_text]The well-known ‘MECCA’ for Terriers is considered by most around the world to be the famous Montgomery County Kennel Club (MCKC).\u00a0 I have made the trek out to this show every year for 20 years now, except for one, when I had puppies born that time and couldn’t get away … the same year that my boy won HUGE and won BOB there!\u00a0 This show weekend consists of 4 show days, with the final day being MCKC.\u00a0 The previous 3 days usually account for almost all of the same terriers being presented, and any wins on any of the 4 days is considered to be outstanding!\u00a0 We have been very fortunate with this competitive show weekend.<\/p>\n

This is always the 1st Sunday of October each year and is about an hour north of Philadelphia (PA, USA).\u00a0 This show only has classes for Terrier breeds, and on this day there are world-class terriers in all breeds from all over the world in attendance, making up almost 1500 in total number.\u00a0 When I first started, there were easily 2500 terriers being presented.\u00a0 An outstanding sight to watch if you have any interest in terriers, especially the ones that are smaller in numbers at the typical show throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Also when I first started out, there used to be about 120 Welsh Terriers in attendance.\u00a0 The year that my boy Parker (Multi Best in Show Am\/Can\/Australian CH Darwyn’s Webslinger), there were about 85 Welsh Terriers being exhibited.<\/p>\n

This year, 2019, there were 50 Welsh Terriers entered.<\/strong><\/p>\n
