AKC Grand Chamion Silver (GCHS) Teritails & Shiloh Morning’s For Hymn (Conrad) is the #1 Welsh Terrier in the US for 2021.  This is based on breed level competition.  Conrad defeated more Welsh Terriers for Best of Breed wins, during the year, than others.

Conrad is also one of a small number of Welsh Terrier that have achieved the Silver Level of Grand Championship Titles.

Conrad is owned by Terry Lohmuller (Florida) & his breeder, Cathy Francis (Virginia).  He was professionally conditioned and presented by Greg Strong.

Congratulations Terry and Cathy and Greg!

Here at Darwyn, we are proud of his accomplishments and happy for his breeder/owners.  Conrad’s connection to us is that he is a son of one of our special boys, Mickey,  American GCH & Canadian Grand Champion Darwyn’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

On Montgomery County KC & Morris & Essex week, he was awarded “Select Dog” and “Award of Merit” multiple Times, by long-time Welsh Terrier experts (Mr. Bruce Schwartz, Mr. Wood Wornall, and Ms. Virginia Winters).  Larisa had travelled to these prestigious shows in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (October 2021), and was able to watch these competitions.  It was truly heart warming to watch, and found proud to be associated.

Mickey has only sired 2 litters for US breeders (even though Mickey himself is a top winner in both the US and Canada, including top awards on Montgomery weekend, and sired winners at Darwyn).  Out of both of these two, US bred litters, dogs of significance have been produced.  Conrad (here) is one.  The other is Tucker, (American Grand CH Snoward’s Tuff Enuff), bred and owned by Ann Bark.  Tucker was Best of Winners at the Welsh Terrier Club of America National Specialty, on Montgomery County Kennel Club 2019.  He won a 5 point major that day, under a top respected terrier judge, Mr. Clay Coady.  We are very proud of both of these dogs, bred by other breeders out of beautiful girls of theirs, and sired by Mickey.

Conrad is now at his breeders home, Cathy Francis, in Virginia, US.  He was shown as a relatively young dog, retired from the show ring at the end of 2021 at 2.5 years of age.  I look forward to seeing some “Conrad” sired kids in the ring, in the future.  Cathy, his breeder, tells me that his temperament is outstanding.  He’s confident, outgoing, stands his ground, as well as loving and lovable.
